If you are visiting or on vacation in Mallorca, you should make the most of your time and get to know Mallorca in the best way possible without missing a thing. In this post, we make a selected recommendation about those villages of Mallorca that are peculiar and at the same time admired by all the visitors due to their unique beauty.

The following villages in Mallorca listed below have both historical and scenic attractions. For many, this combination make those villages the most beautiful ones in Mallorca and at the same time the most interesting ones.

In our opinion, ller, it is undoubtedly the most beautiful town in Mallorca. Among the things that stand out are its beauty, the cultural history and it is the most complete town in Mallorca in terms of the variety of activities and places of interest.

To begin with, its location awakes a special scent and essence. Sóller is a town in Mallorca that it is surrounded by a valley of orange trees right on the bottom of the Serra de Tramuntana. The Serra de Tramuntana has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This fact makes Soller and its oranges highly acknowledged by the residents and even a large part of the world.

In Sóller, we find characteristic Majorcan buildings, where predominates the special stone care. Also, one of the most important constructions in Sóller is the Sóller train, making Soller a really special town between the towns in Mallorca. This train was built in 1912, and it’s still active, it links the city of Palma de Mallorca with Sóller, crossing through the Serra de Tramuntana. This is the best experience and the most beautiful way to visit the capital city of Mallorca, Palma de Mallorca, or viceversa.

Another place to visit in the Majorcan village, Sóller, is its grandiose Plaza de la Constitución, located a few meters away from Sóllerooms. This Square is presided over by emblematic buildings, like the town hall and the San Bartomeu Church, and its crossed by a tram that links the town and the Puerto de Sóller, the seaport of the village.

ller is one of the most historical town in Mallorca. In the town and in its port many battles were fought due to the Turkish and Algerian pirate attacks against de former residents, who, despite scarce resources, were victorious.

Our next stop in the villages of Mallorca is Fornalutx, located right next to Soller, at the top of the Puig Major, the highest point of the Serra de Tramuntana.

Fornalutx is a really fascinating village of Mallorca, this is because its picturesque and highly steep alleys, built with stone houses and decorated with flowers. These streets make the village of Mallorca, Fornalutx, the main focus of thousands of postcards and surely in several of your posts on social media, if you finally decide to visit the little town.

This cute streets lead to the center of the town, as it happens in the city of love, where you can find the Plaza de España and the Fornalutx church. The Square is full of coffee shops and stores, a perfect spot to take a break from the steep alleys.

As for the church of Fornalutx, it is a baroque construction of the 13th century, it is the highest point of the village of Mallorca and it is surrounded by the most spectacular and beautiful streets of all Fornalutx.

Therefore, there are many reasons to visit Fornalutx during your vacations in Mallorca. Once you’re there, you will surely agree with us.

Following the Serra de Tramuntana path, we find another town of Mallorca par excellence, Valldemossa. A town located in a magnificent valley of the Serra de Tramuntana, surrounded by a forest on one side, and the Mediterranean Sea on the other.

One of the most visited and renowned towns in Mallorca is Valldemossa. Even from a distance, Valldemossa is beautiful. A lovely town with typical majorcan stone houses, where two imposing and emblematic buildings stand out, the San Bartomeu Church and the Palace of King Sancho. This historical palace, was ordered to be built in the 14th century by the first monarch of Mallorca, Jaume II, for his son Sancho.

In addition to its history, Valldemossa is a town in Mallorca that has been an inspiration and  also the residence for many great artists. Great music composers as Frédéric Chopin, the writers George Sand and Azorin, and people from the film industry such as Michel Douglas, succumbed to the charms of Valldemossa.

Furthermore, apart from getting lost in its precious streets, its amazing views and the history itself… You can’t leave Valldemossa without trying its famous ‘coca de patata’ with a coffee or a hot chocolate, you won’t regret it!
