Majorca is sea, sun… beach. In short: it is Mediterranean, colour and light. If there is something which characterizes the island, it is its beautiful beaches surrounded by nature and crystal-clear waters.

From the hotel SólleRooms we would like to invite you to get to know the beaches which are closest to Sóller that you can visit during your stay at our hotel. Not all the beaches are sandy, some are rocky. Let us tell you more! But don’t worry, the beaches in Port de Sóller are sandy!

Port de Sóller Beach or Través Beach

Través beach is located in the port of Sóller. It is a family beach with golden sand, and all the main facilities such as showers, umbrellas and sunbeds. Través beach is surrounded by the beautiful promenade full of shops, bars and restaurants with all kinds of cuisine. If you wish, you can also rent boats due to its proximity to the port. Not all beaches are easily accessible, so renting a boat could be the best option to access some of the wonderful hidden spots in the area.

Repic Beach

Repic beach is a white sandy beach located to the left of Sóller port. It’s easy to access and has a car park. It’s a family beach with a lot of space, close to the residential area and promenade.

Repic is a beautiful beach, which is well-protected thanks to the natural port of Sóller. In summer it is not that busy and in winter it’s the perfect place to walk, to sit in the sun (most days are sunny) or to have a drink in one of the bars and restaurants.

Coves close to Sóller

We would also like to recommend some other coves close to Sóller. If you fancy a small peaceful cove surrounded by nature that is not too touristy, we’d suggest Llucalcari. It’s a rocky cove backed by a forest with turquoise waters and it’s situated 9.2km from Sóller.

Another cove we’d recommend is Cala Deià, which is absolutely stunning. It’s a rocky beach at the mouth of the main stream from Deià.  It is a natural port, surrounded by small fishing houses and nature. It is just 12.7km away from SólleRooms.

Port de Sóller

Port de Sóller is a unique spot on the island thanks to its large natural port surrounded by the Tramuntana mountains. We mustn’t forget to mention the promenade of the Port de Sóller, where you can enjoy a wide variety of bars & restaurants.

Port de Sóller is located only 6km away from Sóller. You are probably asking yourself, how to get to the Port de Sóller from our hotel SólleRooms? Or how to get there from Sóller? Which is the same! We are going to tell you now.

The Sóller Tram

We would recommend doing the journey on board the historic tram. The Sóller tram connects the town of Sóller, located in the mountains, with the port. It was opened in 1913 and it has been used, both by the local people to move around the area, as well as for transporting goods, bringing the fish from the port to the market or for taking produce from the land down to the port.

The trip with the tram lasts approximately half an hour, and you can find all the information on the website www.trendesoller.com

Sóller

Maybe you fancy a holiday out of season. In this case, you will want to know what to do in Sóller. Sóller is a town with a lot of charm. We know you will love it! Keep reading!

Sóller is a quiet town surrounded by orange groves and the Tramuntana mountains, that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011. This means that it’s an ideal place for lovers of nature, hiking and outdoor sports. So, we would suggest that you pay special attention to the ‘marges’ the terraced hillsides, made with a ‘pedra en sec’ drystone technique. It is a type of ancient construction in which you put one stone on top of the other without using any material to hold them together. The first example of this in the Sóller valley dates back to the XIII century. It is estimated that there are 20 thousand km of this type of construction in the Sóller valley. Yes, you read that correctly, 20,000!

Sóller is one of the most beautiful areas in Majorca, as a result of the cultural, patrimonial and natural features which make it unique. The first thing you should do when you get to Sóller is walk around the streets. Losing yourself in the streets, going into shops which are located in traditional buildings, sitting in the modernist square full of life and terraces, are some of the advantages of staying in SólleRooms. If you would like us to be more specific, you really should visit the Gothic church of Sant Bartomeu of Sóller, the Ca’n Prunera museum or the botanical garden of Sóller.

How to get to Sóller?

You can do it in 3 different ways: by car, bus or train. If we had to choose the best way, we for sure would say the train.

Sóller Train

The train connects the capital of Majorca, Palma, with the town of Sóller. Why do we recommend it? Well, for various reasons: firstly, for the journey which will allow you to pass through the world heritage site we mentioned. Secondly, for the train itself. The Sóller train is made of wood and it has looked the same since it started in 1912. It is a train with a ‘Belle Époque’ feeling, you will love it!
